Two versatile bridesmaids collections, named after our granddaughters and now available to discover at The Bridal Affair

Choosing bridesmaids dresses is about much more than agreeing on a colour. The dresses need to complement the wedding, work across the bridal party and allow each bridesmaid to feel comfortable and confident in what she is wearing.
That is why I am so pleased to introduce The Lara Collection and The Ophelia Collection, our two new bridesmaids ranges, now in store at The Bridal Affair.
Both collections offer flexibility, but in very different ways. Lara is centred around adaptable multiway dresses, while Ophelia offers the softness and flattering shape of a wrap design. Together, they give bridal parties two distinctive options without expecting everyone to suit exactly the same neckline, sleeve or silhouette.
The Personal Story Behind Our New Bridesmaids Dresses
These collections are particularly special to us because they are named after our granddaughters, Lara and Ophelia.
When we began developing our own bridesmaids ranges, choosing the names felt completely natural. Weddings are about families, relationships and the people we choose to share important moments with, so it seemed fitting that both collections should carry names that mean so much to our own family.
The dresses themselves still had to earn their place in the boutique. I wanted collections that would work for real bridal parties, where bridesmaids may have different shapes, heights, ages and preferences.
One person may feel happiest with more coverage, while another may prefer a softer neckline or a more contemporary finish. Lara and Ophelia approach those needs differently, allowing the bridal party to look beautifully coordinated while still considering the individual women wearing the dresses.
The Lara Collection: Flexible, Elegant and Easy to Style
The Lara Collection is our multiway bridesmaids range, designed to create a beautifully coordinated look while allowing each bridesmaid to style her dress in a way that feels comfortable and personal.
The adaptable bodice can be wrapped and arranged in different ways, creating a choice of necklines, straps and levels of coverage. This means the bridal party can share the same fabric and colour while each bridesmaid chooses a style that suits her shape and how she prefers to wear her dress.
Lara includes soft jersey and tulle dresses alongside elegant satin options, all available in a carefully selected and regularly evolving choice of colours. This allows us to explore shades that complement the season, venue and wider wedding palette rather than limiting the bridal party to one particular look.
The collection includes junior dresses, a Size 1 range covering sizes 6–18, and a dedicated Size 2 range for our curvier bridesmaids. I particularly wanted the collection to offer the same sense of style, choice and inclusion throughout the bridal party, so no one feels that her options are an afterthought.
What makes Lara so appealing is not simply the number of ways the dresses can be styled. It is the freedom it gives every bridesmaid to feel like herself while still looking beautifully connected to the rest of the wedding party.
The Ophelia Collection: Soft, Flattering and Beautifully Feminine
The Ophelia Collection offers a softer wrap-dress silhouette with a naturally feminine feel.
The wrap construction creates shape through the waist while allowing the fit to be adjusted to the wearer. It is an elegant and easy-to-wear option for bridesmaids who want something flattering without the dress feeling overly structured.
Ophelia is available with flutter sleeves, cap sleeves and three-quarter sleeves. These variations allow bridesmaids to choose the coverage that feels best for them while maintaining a coordinated look across the group.
The collection works beautifully for relaxed and romantic weddings, but its simplicity also allows it to suit more contemporary celebrations. The final effect can be shaped through the colour, accessories and the way the whole wedding party is styled.

Choosing the Right Colour
Colour is often where the bridesmaids look begins, but seeing shades in person can make a considerable difference. Colours can appear very different on a screen depending on the lighting, photography and device being used.
During an appointment, we can look at the fabrics properly and consider how the shade works with the wedding season, flowers, venue and the bride’s gown. We can also compare different tones rather than trying to make a decision from a small online image.
Some brides arrive with a precise colour in mind, while others have a broader palette and need help narrowing it down. Both approaches are perfectly normal. The aim is to find a shade that belongs within the wedding rather than choosing something simply because it is currently fashionable.
Matching Groomsmen Accessories
Once the bridesmaids colour has been chosen, we can also explore coordinating accessories for the groomsmen, including ties, bow ties, pocket squares and cufflinks.
Matching options are available in many of the collection colours, although not every accessory is produced in every shade. Where an exact match is unavailable, we can look at complementary tones that still bring the wedding party together beautifully.
A pocket square can add a subtle connection, while coordinating ties or bow ties create a stronger link with the bridesmaids. The best choice will depend on the suits, the formality of the wedding and how much of the chosen colour you would like to include.

Choosing Between Our New Bridesmaids Dresses
The right collection will depend on the look you want to create and what works best for the bridesmaids themselves.
Lara is ideal for bridal parties drawn to the styling freedom of a multiway dress. The different bodice options allow the neckline and coverage to be adapted while retaining the same fabric, colour and skirt.
Ophelia offers the gentle structure of a wrap dress, with sleeve choices that can be varied across the bridal party. It is a lovely option for brides who prefer a softer silhouette with an adjustable fit.
Sometimes the bride already has a strong preference before the appointment. On other occasions, the decision becomes much clearer once both collections have been seen and tried properly.
There is no need to settle every detail before visiting. Part of my role is to help the group compare the options and turn the initial ideas into a look that works as a whole.
Your Private Bridesmaids Appointment
Bridesmaids appointments at The Bridal Affair are personal and private, with the boutique and our attention reserved for your group.
This gives us the time to understand the wedding, explore the colours and consider what each bridesmaid needs from her dress. No one is expected to make a rushed decision in a busy shared space, and there is room for everyone to be part of the experience.
I believe bridesmaids deserve the same care and consideration as our brides. These are important dresses, and choosing them should feel enjoyable, inclusive and well guided.
