We may collect personal data that you provide directly to us, including your name, email address, telephone number, postal address, and any other contact details you choose to give us.
We may also collect account information, including your login details, saved wishlist items, preferences, and activity linked to your account.
If you contact us, book an appointment, or send an enquiry, we may collect details of your request, messages, and any information you include in your communication with us.
If you use our Virtual Dressing Room, we may collect the photo you upload, the generated preview images, and related technical information needed to operate the feature.
We may also collect financial and transaction records where relevant for purchases, invoicing, and business administration. We do not store payment card details unless this is specifically handled through a secure payment provider.
When you use our website, we may automatically collect technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, referring website, and information about how you use our site. We may do this through cookies, analytics tools, server logs, and similar technologies.
How we collect your data
We collect personal data when you visit our website, create an account, save items to your wishlist, book an appointment, make an enquiry, upload a photo to the Virtual Dressing Room, purchase from us, or otherwise contact us.
We also collect certain information automatically through cookies and similar technologies when you browse our website.
How we use your personal data
We use your personal data to operate, manage, and improve our website and services. This includes managing your account, storing your wishlist, responding to enquiries, arranging appointments, providing customer support, processing orders and invoices, and maintaining our business records.
We also use personal data to operate the Virtual Dressing Room, including generating previews, checking image suitability, preventing misuse, and supporting the feature where needed.
We may use personal data to improve our website, understand customer preferences, monitor website performance, maintain security, prevent fraud or abuse, and comply with legal, tax, accounting, and regulatory obligations.
Where appropriate, we may also use cookies and similar technologies to support website functionality, remember preferences, and understand how visitors use the website.
Our lawful bases for processing
Under UK data protection law, we rely on one or more lawful bases for using your personal data.
We process some data because it is necessary for the performance of a contract with you, or because you have asked us to take steps before entering into a contract. This applies where you book appointments, create an account, use account features, or make enquiries relating to our services.
We also process data where it is necessary for our legitimate interests, such as running and improving our website, operating the wishlist and Virtual Dressing Room features, responding to customers, keeping records, and preventing misuse or security issues, provided those interests are not overridden by your rights and freedoms.
We may process data where necessary to comply with legal obligations, including accounting, tax, and record-keeping requirements.
Where required, we will rely on your consent, for example in relation to certain non-essential cookies or similar technologies.
Virtual Dressing Room
Our Virtual Dressing Room is an experimental feature designed to help customers explore selected wedding dress styles using their own uploaded photo.
If you use this feature, we may process the photo you upload, the generated preview images, and related technical information required to provide the service. We may also check uploaded photos for suitability before processing in order to improve results, reduce unsuccessful previews, and help prevent misuse of the feature.
Uploaded photos and generated previews are stored on our server. We keep this information only for as long as reasonably necessary to operate the feature, support your use of it, maintain security, manage your account, and meet any legal obligations.
The Virtual Dressing Room is intended as a visual guide only and should not be treated as an exact representation of fit, fabric movement, lace placement, embellishment detail, or final garment appearance.
Wishlist accounts
If you create an account and use our wishlist feature, we will store the items you save together with your account information so that you can access them later.
Wishlist information is generally retained until you delete your account, unless we need to keep certain information for legal, security, or administrative reasons.
Saving an item to your wishlist does not reserve that item, guarantee its availability, or lock in pricing.
Who we share your data with
We may share your personal data with carefully selected third-party providers where this is necessary to operate our website and business.
This may include our hosting and infrastructure providers, including Cloudways, our website platform and related WordPress tools and plugins, our Virtual Dressing Room technology provider FASHN.AI, our bridal boutique software provider My Bridal, our accounting provider Xero, payment providers, communication providers, analytics and cookie providers, and professional advisers such as accountants, legal advisers, or insurers.
We may also disclose personal data where required to do so by law, regulation, court order, or other legal process.
We do not sell your personal data.
International transfers
Some of the third-party providers we use may process personal data outside the UK.
Where personal data is transferred outside the UK, we will take appropriate steps to ensure that it remains protected in accordance with applicable data protection law. This may include relying on adequacy regulations, approved contractual safeguards, or other lawful transfer mechanisms.
How long we keep your data
We keep personal data only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, including to satisfy legal, accounting, tax, reporting, and regulatory requirements.
As a general guide, wishlist information is retained until you delete your account unless we need to keep some records for legal, security, or administrative reasons. Virtual Dressing Room uploads and generated previews are stored on our server and retained only for as long as reasonably necessary for operation of the feature, support, security, and account management. Enquiry and appointment records are kept for as long as reasonably necessary to manage the customer relationship and our internal records. Financial and transaction records may be kept for as long as required by law.
When data is no longer needed, we will delete it securely or anonymise it where appropriate.
Cookies and similar technologies
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to help it function properly, remember preferences, improve performance, understand how visitors use the site, and support certain features and services.
Some cookies are strictly necessary for the website to work. Others may be used for analytics, functionality, or similar purposes. Where required by law, we will ask for your consent before placing non-essential cookies on your device.
You can manage your cookie preferences through our website tools where available or through your browser settings. Because the cookies used on a website can change over time depending on active plugins, integrations, and services, we recommend that this section and your cookie settings are reviewed regularly.
Data security
We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to help protect personal data against unauthorised access, misuse, loss, alteration, or disclosure.
These measures include secure website hosting, access controls, password protection, and limiting access to personal data to those who need it for legitimate business purposes.
However, no internet-based service or storage system can ever be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law, you may have the right to request access to the personal data we hold about you, request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data, request deletion of your personal data in certain circumstances, request restriction of processing in certain circumstances, object to processing based on legitimate interests, request transfer of your data where applicable, and withdraw consent where we rely on consent.
If you would like to exercise any of your rights, please contact us at [email protected].
You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office if you believe your personal data has been handled unlawfully.
Third-party websites
Our website may contain links to third-party websites, services, or social media platforms. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties, and you should read their own privacy notices separately.
Children’s data
Our website and services are not intended for children, and images of children must not be uploaded to the Virtual Dressing Room. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children through this feature.
If you believe that a child’s personal data has been provided to us in error, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
